One of the benefits of Martin doing shows at the US Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, AL is that he can spread his "STAY IN SCHOOL" message to students in that area. Martin has done demonstrations and speeches for the students in the Dallas area and the surrounding vicinity for many years. Now he has been scheduling schools in the Alabama and Tennessee areas. Check below to see some of the schools Martin has done shows for. If you would like Martin to do a demonstration at your school, check our event calendar page for available dates and contact us via email.

Melinda Day Webster
and Martin

In the summer of 2002, Martin was brought to the US Space and Rocket Center to do a demonstration for the 2002 International Teachers of the Year. At that event, we met Tennessee Teacher of the Year Melinda Day Webster. She was the person responsible for Martin coming to the Lenoir City Elementary School to do a presentation for the students there. It was a very enjoyable day for all as Martin did paintings and inspired students with the story of his struggles and life's journey. Students of all ages got to spend some time watching Martin. Some students from the nearby Middle School were even brought over to hear his message: "STAY IN SCHOOL"!!! The event was covered by the Knoxville, TN news crew from WBIR. Teacher Ms. Herget
and Martin

Ms. Herget of the Hayden Middle School was visiting the US Space and Rocket Center with some students of her school. After watching Martin's paintings being created right before her eyes, seeing the response of her students, and learning of his passion to inspire students, she quickly went about getting him scheduled to come to Hayden, AL. Martin made the short trip down from Huntsville and prepared for a day of demonstrating his unique brand of artistry. This being a larger school, Martin was mainly able to do shows for the entire fifth grade class. A few of the fourth grade classes and several students for the nearby High School also were able to see him paint and hear his message.

Teacher Ms. English, Martin, and
Teacher Ms. Bryant

Ms. English and Ms. Bryant saw Martin doing his paintings at the US Space and Rocket Center. After talking to him about the passions and motivations in his life, they immediately called their principal to get the "OK" to schedule him to talk to their school. On a beautiful day in May, Martin traveled up the mountain to the Monte Sano Elementary School. Martin spent the day doing paintings for the small kindergarten kids through the fifth grade classes. After listening to Martin's impassioned plea for them to "STAY IN SCHOOL" and being awed by his painting, many kids came back time and time again throughout the day, even using their recess time to watch and listen to him further. WAFF Television, Channel 48, sent out News Reporter Jason Gaston to cover the event for the local evening news.

Martin and
Guidance Counselor Ms. Morgan

When Ms. English and Ms. Bryant of the Monte Sano Elementary School saw Martin doing his paintings at the US Space and Rocket Center, they also thought his message should be delivered to the students of Lincoln Elementary. The guidance counselor, Alida Morgan took care of arranging to have Martin, his art, and his message become part of Lincoln's Field Day activities. Students from kindergarten through the fifth grade all got to spend part of their day watching and listening to Martin. Many kids showed their excitement by bringing their parents over to see Martin at the end of the day when they were being picked up. A few were also able to take home a painting as a memory of the day. Several teachers got paintings and one of Martin's paintings will also be hanging in the library of the school for all the students to enjoy.
